Introduction
Ann has been established in
Ayr since 1982 with experience of working within the NHS and for many years as
a private practitioner.
Her extensive career within
Podiatry and as a Bowen Practitioner has allowed her the honour of working with
many sports professionals. She has consulted for a number of premiership
football teams and has treated professional athletes from the world of golf,
dance, running, rugby, running, and many more.
Through invitation by the
R&A, she was part of the team servicing the Podiatry contract for the 2004
Open Golf Championship in Troon providing Podiatry services for the golf
professionals.

PODIATRY SERVICES Corns
& Callouses: These are the result of abnormal
pressure and friction. Commonly located over bony prominences the lesions are
removed. Padding and insoles can help to reduce the pressure along with
footwear advice. Thickened
Nails:
Onychogryphotic nails are thickened and deformed. They can commonly be the
result of trauma. These nails can be treated in order for them to become more
aesthetically pleasing with a reduced thickness. Ingrown
Toe Nails:
Caused by trauma, incorrect cutting, poor fitting shoes or where the nail has
an involuted shape causing pressure or discomfort. Onychocryptosis: Is an ingrown toe nail which has become

BIOMECHANICS
& PAEDIATRIC ASSESSMENTS As well as mainstream
Podiatry and Bowen services Ann specialises in Biomechanical Evaluation and
Analysis. It has now become accepted that poor foot function and walking gait
maybe part of the reason people suffer from back pain, hip pain, knee, foot
and ankle pain extending into poor posture contributing to neck/shoulder pain. These corrective devices have been shown to be highly successful in relieving,
reducing or resolving symptoms. |
